Publications Overview
The American Physiological Society publishes journals and books as a
nonprofit publisher on a self-supporting basis, independent of society
dues. The APS Publications are among the most respected and frequently
cited in the world.
Journals
APS publishes 14 scholarly journals covering all aspects of physiology
as well as the Society's newsletter. APS journals are among the best in
the world in their specialized fields of research and are published both
online and in print. Accepted research papers can also be published ahead
of print. APS is proud to provide the legacy content of its journals going back to 1898.

The highly respected and authoritative Handbook of Physiology
series is one of the published series. The others include Methods in
Physiology Series, Clinical Physiology Series, and People and Ideas
Series. APS also publishes works on history of physiology as well as
