3. JUSTIFICATION OF FUNDS REQUESTED: In general, the maximum allowable budget is $4,000. Additional funds might be awarded if the request is adequately justified. Supplies to the host laboratory up to a maximum of $2,000, travel expenses, and course registration fees, if justifiable, are allowable. The award is for a single support period with variable length. It is not intended to be used as alternative support for sabbatical leave, nor should it be used to provide travel to scientific meetings, workshops, or symposia with limited scope for scientific growth.
